Founded as a music production company and studio in 1989, Traumton (pronounced Trowm'tone) is running the label Traumton Records since 1992. Traumton Records specializes in beautifully packaged, audiophile quality recordings of jazz, world, ambient and german pop/chanson music performed by artists from Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, the US and Brazil.

We believe in developing long term relationships with artists and projects offering a unique musical style, artistic and creative visons and perspectives. We appreciate original ideas and individuality, the pleasure of trying experiments and the readiness for taking risks, though this might not relate to the situation of the market or just be a little crazy. We offer open ears and an open mind, a place to grow for newcomers and a place to bloom for established artists.
Next to distributing our cd's through the companies mentioned, we are running an internet store and ship cds to our customers directly and worldwide.

Traumton’s recording studios (including a 200 m2 hall and a C. Bechstein D 282 grand piano) are especially suited for acoustic recordings of all kinds and ideal for creating and mixing sound tracks for films. Two control rooms with hard disc recording and Surround (5.1), two audio suites with hard disc recording for sound design or editing and two recording rooms are available so that even large projects can be carried out within short time. Next to technology we supply professional sound engineers, sound designers, musicians and organisation. Traumton is recording and producing music for CDs, film scores and multimedia events.

Our Policy Concerning A&R
We accept submissions by mail or e-mail. As a prerequisite for demo submission we ask that you look at our roster list. If you think you might fit with our line-up send us a package with your contact information. We do not return demos except by specific request, if you wish to have your demo returned send SASE with the correct postage. Keep in mind that we are small and that it might take us some time before we get a chance to listen to your demo. Be sure that we will contact you, if we are interested.

Wolfgang acts as the producer of most Traumton releases. His formal training ended with a Masters Degree in 1980 from the Hochschule der Kuenste in Berlin, Germany. A multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and sound engineer, Wolfgang has produced or performed in many genres of music including pop, rock, jazz, classical, ambient, avant garde and dance (he produced the #1 U.S. tune "Forever Young" for the group Alphaville). He also spends a lot of his time writing and producing music for film, TV and theater.

Stefanie finished her guitar studies at the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater in Hannover, Germany with a Masters Degree in 1979. She started playing electric bass when she moved to Berlin in 1983 and got involved in several band projects as a bass-player. There she also work as a sound assistant at the famous Berlin Hansa Tonstudios. She met Wolfgang Loos in 1988 when he was about to start his own studio and independent production company Traumton. Ever since they have been working together and founded the label Traumton Records in 1993.
